Sardinian fishing boat
Date/Time: 2007:10:26 16:44:44
This boat in Porto Torres, Sardinia is painted in a number of bright colours which shone in the afternoon sun. The main colours of the boat are mirrored by the net covers on the quayside.
berries

These berries are actually bright red in real life. However, while editing the image to increase the tonal contrast I ended up with this rather surreal colour and decided it fitted the assignment well.

A bit daft maybe, but this array of colours greets me each time I turn on my PC so I photographed it! As the screen was quite bright the frame was originally underexposed. I created a mask to allow just this area to be colour corrected.
Autumn trees
Date/Time: 2007:10:30 14:11:10
These trees are about 100m from my house. The shape looks like its one tree, but its actually three. Each tree is in a slightly different phase of its own "autumn" giving this lovely graduation from green through to deep golden which contrast against the bright afternoon sky.

Neptune's Cave
Date/Time: 2007:10:25 15:27:09
Neptune's Cave, or more properly Grotta di Nettuno, Capo Caccia, Sardinia. A huge limestone cave entered at sea level - either by boat (if you are smart), or via 650 steps from the cliff-top car park (if you are masochistic, like us!).
The colours you see in the cave are really determined by the lighting used throughout. This picture was photographed without flash. The orange hue from the lights certainly gives it a very warm feeling, but the rock isn't really this colour!
